What do you think of Internet explorer 9 ?

How would you compare & rate it to firefox, chrome, and the other browsers?

Personally, I actually quite like it - being faster and more responsive then FF is great!
Im thinking about making it my default browser. cyclops

But it does carry the burden of it's predecessor, being the alfa male how it is far superior 1to them.

If you've got Win 7, totally heck it out. king

For me, I dislike IE.
I haven't seen the latest version, but I had traumatic experiences with IE. Sad

So, anyone who doesn't have Win7 hates IE9, anyone who has Win 7, or Beta Win 8, likes it..... sounds about right Smile

I haven't tried it, I don't see the need to, considering FireFox and Google Chrome are both working very nicely.

However it is good to read that they are doing better now and that is again standing up to the challenge and bringing fast response and good loading, lets hope it keeps it up. =]

No. No. Anything that has to do with IE is a nono.

I have to admit, Internet Explorer is definitely catching back up with the other browsers since they released 9. It looks a fair bit more snazzy and modern. It's still a bit slow though which is a shame.

The problem for me is Microsoft's lack of making sure that IE9 is CSS3 compatible. Yeah...It can use some of the features of CSS3 but its still miles behind the other browsers when it comes to this and seeing as I'm a website and forum developer, this is what stops me from using it more.

This is also the exact reason why Microsoft is 'rushing' the next version of IE to be completely compatible with the next windows.... that comes out this year, which is conveniently, not like the normal MS Windows, but more of a tablet design. Haven't seen the design for the next IE yet, just read that their rushing it to have it out of alfa test before the next windows came lol

Never been a fan of IE if I'm honest. I've been using Chrome for a while now and never have any issues, in a way I think I've grown accustomed to it.

I would love to add to this discussion, but I can not because I have Windows XP which is not supported by Internet Explorer 9.

I have Windows 7. I took a peek at IE9 recently. And I didn't like it.
I was almost forced into it. I logged on to my laptop one day and Windows had updated IE8 to IE9, and I don't believe a popup came saying "Hey, we updated it for you" or anything like that. Just one day, the icon changed, and my browser was updated.
I use Chrome, only ever going to IE9 if I absolutely have to. The layout seems a bit... bleh, to say the least.

IE9 is a decent browser, but on forumotion its considered a little useless due to FM's blocking of CSS3.

IE in general can be a pain however, especially to JS developers due to fact it likes to do things differently to the Gecko-based browsers.

So yeah, its good, its just adds extra work to making Javascript conform to multiple browsers.
